Houses passes Kitzhaber health bill
Oregon’s House has passed a key component of Gov. John Kitzhaber’s 2012 health care agenda on a vote of 53 to 7.
The House passed Senate Bill 1580, which will implement Kitzhaber’s coordinated care organizations to oversee the Oregon Health Plan’s public programs. The Oregon Senate passed the measure earlier this month, paving the way for Kitzhaber to sign the bill.
Kitzhaber’s team said the organizations, which will aggregate different care segments received by Medicaid recipients, will save the state around $3 billion over the next five years...
