Kitzhaber orders state hiring freeze
Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber and the legislative leadership have asked the Department of Administrative Services to implement a hiring freeze through the end of the February legislative session.
As the Portland Business Journal reports, the state may also suspend new enrollments in the Oregon Health Plan and suspend “all non-critical expenditures” in all agencies, as per the request of legislative leaders.
