Kitzhaber proposes streamlining state permitting processes
Gov. John Kitzhaber on Tuesday released his initial proposal for streamlining permitting and regulatory processes used by state agencies.
Kitzhaber’s initial proposal recommends that the state:
Build on streamlining achievements obtained under previous Governor Ted Kulongoski.Initiate benchmarking and conduct a survey of selected states to assess how Oregon might best improve the regulatory process, including regulatory appeals.Manage the rule-making practices and regulatory processes to improve timeliness, certainty and outcomes...
