Kitzhaber pledges film and video industry support
Speaking to 250 area film and video advocates, Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber dubbed the state's burgeoning media industry the "capital of stop-motion animation" and pledged to continue to support programs that provide the sector's infrastructure needs.
Kitzhaber, recalling a recent meeting with Laika studio founder Travis Knight, said that studio has employed more than 250 people on the production of "Paranorman," a tale of a twistedly psychic boy. The feature is set to be released next August.
