Nick Fish Responds to Hubbub Over Racist Landlords

Yet another tartly worded letter has been written in the continuing saga of Portland's racist landlords, and how and when the city should punish 'em. The latest missive comes from Nick Fish, who has been the target of some breathless Oregonian coverage, and a letter by state Senate Republicans, all of them wondering why he hasn't responded more forcefully—yet—to an audit he commissioned and released weeks ago (which they all just picked up on this week). Fish, as this O story notes, "did not respond to a request for an interview Thursday." He chose instead to reply directly to Salem Republican Jackie Winters, assuring her and her colleagues personally (something he wryly points out Winters failed to do) that he was planning a "bold" approach to the issue.
