The best part of reading the Mapes article are the wild responses posted which totally belie the unity theme. As one of the first responses says... "unity-smunity!"

This is interesting. Alley isn't the mud slinging type. Too nerdy. If anyone had tried, it would have been obvious who was starting it. One possible lesson is that mud slinging goes on in campaigns because there isn't one person that will refrain.
