House Republicans float clean fuels alternative that would gut Energy Trust budget
A key Oregon Republican will ask his peers to halt the expected passage of clean fuels legislation in favor of an alternative that would divert $60 million from The Energy Trust of Oregon to the further climate change research at Oregon universities.
Rep. Mark Johnson, R-Hood River, a member of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Environment, is expected to suggest the alternative to Senate Bill 324 in a minority report staff says will be filed this afternoon.
