Fomer Gov. Kulongoski to oversee talks in Port of Portland labor dispute
A federal judge on Friday appointed former Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski to oversee talks between parties in an ongoing labor dispute that has caused a near shutdown of the Port of Portland’s lone container terminal.
U.S. District Court Judge Michael Simon ordered negotiations to begin at 9 a.m. Monday in the hope of reaching a settlement to a conflict that some fear believe will bring operations at Terminal 6 to a complete halt by mid week.
