When Clear Channel unceremoniously killed progressive talk at KPOJ -- just 64 hours after President Obama was re-elected in 2012 -- it seemed as if progressive talk in Portland was dead forever.
But our friend Carl Wolfson never gave up, never gave in, never allowed defeat to enter his mind.
Sure, XRAY still doesn't have the reach of KPOJ's massive signal. And XRAY doesn't have Clear Channel's marketing budget to plaster billboards all over town.
But every morning, Carl gets up, fires up the mic, and brings the smarts, the funny, and the progressive passion that we need.
That's why I'm asking you to VOTE for Carl Wolfson in Willamette Week's "Best of Portland" awards -- it's the fifth one down under "Best Radio Personality".
