Let's honor a true hero for women in Oregon
Carla Axtman
We have an opportunity to do something right now that honors an incredible woman from Oregon’s history: Abigail Scott Duniway.
TriMet has asked for public input to inform the Bridge Naming Committee's selection of a name for the new transit bridge.
Sign the petition to encourage the committee to select Abigail Scott Duniway as the name for the new Willamette span bridge in Portland.
While each of the four final names for the bridge is compelling, the fact remains that none of the 11 bridges in the Portland metropolitan area are named for a woman.
Sign the petition to honor Abigail Scott Duniway - a notable woman in Oregon's history who worked tirelessly to win women the right to vote – and encourage the committee to name the new transit bridge for her.
This is a chance for us to recognize and honor a woman who truly helped transform Oregon for the better.
