Breaking: Senate passes ENDA
Kari Chisholm
Making history, the United States Senate has passed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act by a vote of 64-32.
Led by Senator Jeff Merkley, the vote in favor included every single Democrat and lots of Republicans.
In addition to the seven who voted in favor on an early test vote on Monday, the Republicans who voted aye today included Senators Lisa Murkowski (AK) who was expected - and Senators John McCain (AZ) and Jeff Flake (AZ), who were a bit of a surprise.
It's pretty amazing to be living through such an historic era of change on civil rights.
