Special session races to a close
Kari Chisholm
Well, the special session may have extended from one day to three, but it looks like it's rapidly coming to a close. All five bills have passed the House and Senate and they've adjourned sine die.
Here's the vote breakdown:
House Bill 3601. The combined package of tax cuts and tax increases. Passed the House 36-19. Passed the Senate 18-10.
(Note: The O is reporting a 36-22 vote in the House. The O is wrong. Just 55 members in the building today.)
House Bill 5101. Appropriates spending for schools and other program. Passed the House 54-1. Passed the Senate 27-1.
Senate Bill 861. Reduces cost of living benefits to PERS retirees. Passed the Senate 22-7. Passed the House 31-24.
Senate Bill 862. Minor adjustments to PERS calculations. Passed the Senate 27-2. Passed the House 55-0.
Senate Bill 863. State pre-emption of local GMO ordinances. Passed the Senate 17-12. Passed the House 32-22.
