Joe Biden: Zinger Machine
Kari Chisholm
Vice President Biden rocked Congressman Paul Ryan's world tonight. Some of his best lines.
-
“Oh, now you're Jack Kennedy.”
-
"He sent me two letters saying, 'By the way, can you send me some stimulus money for companies here in the state of Wisconsin?' We sent millions of dollars...." RYAN: "That's what we do. We do that for all constituents who are applying for grants." BIDEN: "I love that. I love that. This is such a bad program, and he writes me a letter..."
-
“I may be mistaken. [Romney] changes his mind so often, I could be wrong.”
-
"Can I translate that?"
-
"I've had it up to here with this notion that 47 percent — it's about time they take some responsibility here. And instead of signing pledges to Grover Norquist not to ask the wealthiest among us to contribute to bring back the middle class, they should be signing a pledge saying to the middle class, we're going to level the playing field."
-
"Look, these guys haven't been big on Medicare from the beginning."
-
"Stop talking about how you care about people. Show me something."
-
“With all due respect, that's a bunch of malarkey."
-
"Not mathematically possible!"
-
"I wish he would just tell.... be a little more candid."
-
"This is a bunch of stuff..."
-
"You'd rather Americans be going in to do the job? We're sending in more Afghans to do the job."
I think this pretty sums it up:
'Nuff said.

Martha Raditz was pretty smooth too! I'd add to Biden's great lines: Martha, you're a foreign policy expert. . . Go Martha!

Thank you, Joe, for standing up for all of us, instead of the 1%.
Thank you, Martha, for modeling what an effective debate moderator does, and for requiring a real answer from Paul Ryan on his bogus 5 trillion giveaway to the wealthy, and exposing that he doesn't have an answer.

This is hilarious to listen to you guys. Biden's job tonight was to fire up the base...who, with less than a month to go, should already be excited about the incumbent... but aren't. However, his pugnacious behavior sacrificed his appeal to independents, undecideds and those who found him to be condescending, rude and obnoxious.
I guess it worked, since you guys are falling all over yourselves.

You have your right wing talking points down, just like Paul Ryan. But still losing. Vouchers are a loser, Soc. Sec. privatization is a loser. Tax breaks for millionaires is a loser. .And Romney/Ryan have been unveiled and can no longer pretend they aren't for that right wing radical and unpopular stuff. Biden smoked them out.

Dan's comment exhibits the essential difference between us and them. When our man is off his game, like President Obama was last week, we admit it, discuss how to fix it, and move on from it. On the other hand, when Uncle Joe hands little Pauly Ryan his lunch box and sends him back to the second grade with a pat on the head, well, Dan spins himself dizzy about how bad it really is for progressives.
Face it, Dan -- you've a pair of serial liars as candidates who will say anything to anybody at any time to win this election. They have cores of rancid Jello.
They're both the epitome of venality. Ryan gripes and moans about the stimulus, and then sends letters wanting his cut, and you tell me -- what's Mittens stance on abortion today?
47% indeed.

There's a difference, you realize, between overall enthusiasm for the President and being disappointed that he didn't take on Mr. Romney more directly in the first debate.

Mr. Estes is "concern trolling" here.
Concern Troll: A person who lurks, then posts, on a site or blog, expressing concern for policies, comments, attitudes of others on the site. It is viewed as insincere, manipulative, condescending. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=concern+troll

Yes, Dan, we've heard those talking points several times from R-leaning pundits. Truth is, there is no end to motivating the base until the votes are counted. As far as undecided voters, it will take some time - and political ads - to detemine how this debate changes their preference.

While I only heard a few minutes of this on the way to listen to the lecture by CNN legal analyist Toobin, which was excellent, it remains to be seen if the media will report on who Ryan is. His company got its first contract in 1884 to build railroads. How many tens of millions has this Rand devotee gotten from Big Government? Well, it is certainly huge since the interstate highway contracts and the tens of millions since Ryan was put in office by Wall Street. So why has Bain not acquired and harvested Ryan's company? Loyalty among theives.
You must remember that Romney got his money from the founders of the death squads in El Salvador. Ooops I guess I am off topic now.

I'll pop back in on November 7th. If I'm wrong...I'll own it. Let's see if that same dignity will be returned and then we can discuss the hyperbolic "essential differences between us and them."
See ya at the finish line.

you better keep an eye on Ohio, Dan. the President still has a strong lead there (6 pts is strong in a swing state) and Rmoney can't close that gap. last night didn't help, and Rmoney's essential unpleasantness with people will be difficult to watch at the town hall on Tuesday. he won't win Ohio, and Obama will win enough of the other states he needs to win it all.
especially since the courts have blocked all GOP efforts to suppress the vote.
we look forward to your dignified concession speech.

Biden, unlike Ryan, Romney or Obama, was entertaining. Ryan, like Romney, paid little attention to the fact checkers or their own records.

The bar was set so low for Biden, that the Dem's would claim victory as long as Joe didn't unleash an F-bomb on live national television.
I thank God every day for the Secret Service, knowing we're only a heartbeat away from President Joe Biden.

Because telling someone to got f*#k themselves is worse than lying to the American People, repeatedly; both Ryan and R-Money do it so much many wonder about personality disorders with them. I believe that is much worse than Joe telling it like it is, even if he dropped the F-Bomb.
