It's official: Roblan and Hanna are co-speakers. So far, no drama.

And it's official - we have co-speakers Arnie Roblan and Bruce Hanna.
They were approved shortly after the House voted 57-3 to approve new rules. No real word yet on what the rules say. But Dave Steves, at the Register-Guard, says "the House is off to as smooth a start as could have been imagined."
Blogging on the R-G, Steves also has got the best running stream of updates from the House floor..
About the rules, Steves notes:
Two of the representatives who worked on it, Republican Dennis Richardson of Central Point and Democrat Peter Buckley of Ashland, spoke on behalf of the bills. Richardson said few have actually read through them all, but they create a framework that will balance the two parties and the rights of rank-and-file members to have their voices heard.
As I noted two weeks ago, the toughest question to sort out related to whether a majority of 31 or more members could pull a bill from a committee - over the objection of leadership and that committee's chair (or co-chairs).
Dave Steves reports that yes, the rule of 31 is in. (He's got more, so pop over there and read the details.)

I don't know. Paul Holvey spoke against it.
