TV Spots in the Metro President Race

Here's the TV spots in the tough three-way race for Metro President.

First, Rex Burkholder - whose spot is endearingly dorky, and definitely breaks through the clutter on the airwaves.

Second, Bob Stacey's got two spots up. Here's the first:

And on the jump, the second...

Best as I can tell, Tom Hughes doesn't have any TV spots up. Visit their websites to learn more about Rex Burkholder, Bob Stacey, and Tom Hughes.

I'm not impressed by the Rex ad's depiction of environmentalists as hippie-dippy flower children.

If you're going to go over the top in stereotypes, you should do it on both sides - show business people raking in money.

They could have easily shown an environmentalist protecting drinking water, or birdwatching...

Of course, the environmental groups - Sierra Club and OLCV - are supporting Bob Stacey, instead of being "brought together" by Rex.

Sigh. Primary elections aren't much fun.

I think you hit the nail on the head Evan. This is a primary election, and the electorate skews much older. When I think older environmentalists, this ad targets them perfectly. I personally think it is a great ad that strikes the idea of a perfect balance between the environment and development.

The Bob Stacy ads both say Video not found, or access denied. Wonder if that's a metaphor of some sort?

    Susan & Evan --

Sorry about that. I'm assuming it's some sort of temporary glitch, so I'll leave 'em there for now.

I used the "embed" code found in the video itself, so it should be working.
