Editorial endorsements for Governor, State Treasurer, and State Superintendent
Kari Chisholm
Here's a rundown of all the newspaper endorsements in the four major statewide races.
In the Governor's race, Kitzhaber's won all eleven endorsements made thus far. Alley has seven to Dudley's four.
In the State Treasurer's Democratic primary, Ted Wheeler has won all ten nine eight thus far. And in the Superintendent of Public Instruction race (which, I remind you, will be over next week), Ron Maurer (R) has six while Susan Castillo (D) has four three. (Oops! I had the Mercury wrong. I've also added the Bulletin's endorsements of Wheeler and Maurer.)
Update: The Argus endorsed Wheeler.

Full disclosure: My firm built John Kitzhaber's and Ted Wheeler's campaign websites. I speak only for myself.

I believe that the Bend Bulletin has also endorsed Dr. Maurer.
It is interesting to see how the endorsements in that race tend to break down along traditional power and urban/rural lines.

I know the East O endorsed Maurer, but the paywall won't let me check back on who else.

If anyone can tell us the rest of the East O's endorsements, that would be much appreciated.

Argh. Damn paywalls. I hate the Bend Bulletin's website.
If they're going to go down that road, at least make sure the damn site is searchable. Nothing found for the Superintendent or Treasurer races.

Agreed. Paywall didn't work when the NYT tried it a decade ago, and it doesn't work now. Someone, somewhere, will always repost or adequately synthesize to completely remove the need for a subscription.
