Breaking: Jim Hill withdraws from State Treasurer's race
Kari Chisholm
Minutes ago, former state treasurer Jim Hill filed the paperwork to withdraw from the State Treasurer's race. I got the tip from a friend who happened to be in the state capitol - and I've confirmed this with the elections division directly.
More updates shortly.

Wheeler is well known in Mult. Co. But will the rest of the state really vote for him simply because he is the incumbent?
If it is Wheeler vs Metsger, I'd say that is a contested primary.

Ted will do well across the state. He comes with more credibility and presence than Rick. My guess is that he will roll up the vast majority of newspaper endorsements across the state and in a two month campaign that will have some impact. Neither are well known outside their own districts, but Ted's district is a whole lot bigger.

If Rick Metsger were to be elected State Treasurer, they'd have to remove golden man from the top of the Capitol and open the dome to the skies for a chance to fit his already enormous ego in the building.
So much self-importance, so few reasons for it.
On the bright side, he might rename PERS - "Rick Metsger's Fund" and get a lot of media attention.
