Tonight: Portland City Council Candidate Forum
Kari Chisholm
Sure, our January special election may be over, but the next round of voting is just around the corner.
The first major milestone on the road to May's primary election is this Friday -- the deadline for Portland City Council candidates who are voluntarily participating in the voter-owned campaign finance system to turn in one thousand $5 contributions.
And it's the last time the Portland voter-owned system will be used before voters get an opportunity to renew the program this November.
If you're a Portland voter, and you haven't yet had a chance to meet the various candidates (and possibly give one or more your $5), the Bus Project and the Portland Mercury have partnered to give you a chance to check 'em all out.
Tonight at 7 p.m., at the Old Town cafe/gallery/techno-playground BackSpace (115 NW 5th Ave), the candidates will face a number of questions on bicycling, the Columbia River Crossing bridge, police reform - and more.
More details at the Mercury, including how you can submit questions of your own in advance.
