Save-the-Media Saturday
Carla Axtman
Following up on yesterday's post about the state of the media in Oregon, the good folks at OPB and Portland City Club are way ahead of me.
This Saturday (November 21) in Portland, OPB and the City Club of Portland are holding a day-long conference called "We Make The Media". The conference is billed as a way to address the "dying, dead – or yet to be born" journalism in Oregon and the Portland Region.
The deets:
WeMakeTheMedia.org
Saturday, November 21, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
University of Oregon, Turnbull Center
70 NW Couch, Portland
Cost $25,
Go here to register.
I'm planning to give up one of my precious Saturdays to schlep my bones into Portland for this. It looks as if they're trying to create a nonprofit model for journalism and I'm rather fascinated with how that might shake out.
