Kitzhaber announces several dozen endorsements

Today, John Kitzhaber was endorsed in his campaign for Governor by several dozen elected officials, business leaders, and community leaders. From the O's Jeff Mapes:
Kitzhaber showed the strength of his campaign by garnering the endorsement of Attorney General John Kroger, schools Superintendent Susan Castillo and Treasurer Ben Westlund. He also picked up the backing of former Congresswoman Darlene Hooley, Multnomah County Chairman Ted Wheeler, six state senators and 11 state representatives.
The Portland Mercury's Matt Davis covered the statements:
[Kroger] spoke of Kitzhaber's "moral conviction" and sense of "moral urgency" in the race. "We can't sit on our hands and wait. We've got to move forward and take action" on issues like health care and job creation...""It does not surprise me that he already has 8,000 Facebook friends," said New Seasons owner Eileen Brady, who praised Kitzhaber's health care agenda. "He knows we have to put health back into health care," she said, drawing the connection between nutrition and physical fitness. "I know he will be an incubator of and a champion for the next group of leaders in this state," said State Representative Jefferson Smith, who founded the Bus Project with Kitzhaber as a strong supporter. Multnomah County Chairman Ted Wheeler said he was convinced that Kitzhaber not only understands the issues facing the state, but that he has the skills to affect change.
Here's the video of Kitzhaber's remarks, from his Facebook page:

It's an impressive list with lots of folks I respect. First I didn't get an invite to the Junto, now not to be asked to join in this. It's just too much. Guess I'm not part of the in-circle power elite. Who cares?

I particularly liked the Mercury's headline: "Even Your Mom Endorses Kitzhaber..."

Looks like somebody was feeling a little insecure after the Roberts endorsement...

Have no fear, Jack Roberts will endorse Dr. No. They're blood bothers. Remember Jack, you helped your brother when you signed his letter. What letter? Tell the folks Jack.

I assume you're talking about our cooperation in opposing one of the Sizemore initiatives. I'm not exactly sure which one--as Bill keeps reminding me, I've opposed all of them.

The KITZ agenda per his website:
Improve education from pre-school through graduate school. Tell me how you are going to do this without spending more money and you will have my attention...
Develop the jobs of the future inside our own borders – and enhance Oregon’s ability to compete globally. Please stop this trend of chasing the 'flavor of the month' industry and put forth an effort to grow ALL industries. You have a very diversified list of industries in the INC 5000. Work to expand them.
Have a state with fewer kids in foster care, lower school drop out rates, a lower prison population and fewer people on public assistance. You could start by decriminalizing marijuana. That would empty out a lot of cells.
Make Oregonians healthier regardless of what happens in Washington DC. High quality healthy food is the most expense of any grocery store. Crap food is cheap. People with limited $$$ are forced to buy crap food. Have the state buy produce wholesale and distribute it to foodstamp families.
And protect the natural wonder and quality of life that helps define who we are. We have sold out to the quality of life mantra and yet almost every study that ranks QOL places Oregon/Portland in the middle. WTF? Why don't you ask the people how they define QOL for once...

My favorite Facebook update of the day, Anna Griffin: "Well, that was a wild gubernatorial race. See you in 2014."
Sep 16, '09
Annnddd I am supposed to be impressed why?
Sep 17, '09
Alright then, it's obviously time for Jack Bogdanski to expose the fact that all of these endorsers are intimately tied to the pedophile ring operated by Neil Goldschmidt, assorted Pearl District condo "weasels", and the man in the pinstriped suit at the hear of the Michael Francke murder conspiracy.

I want to thank Bob for his bravery in exposing both Kitzhaber and his co-conspirator, the RINO Jack Roberts. Jack, you are now officially toast. You will NEVER get a position with the 2012 Oregonians for Palin organization.

Oh darn. I wonder if I can still sign on with Huckleberry?
Sep 17, '09
Jack, yeah, Huck will have you, but first you need to learn how to handle poisonous snakes in one hand while marching around with a placard bearing abortion porn in the other, all the while muttering darkly about darkies in the White House.
