Tuesday at the Lege
Carla Axtman
While visiting the Capitol on Tuesday, I managed to snap some shots of the House in session. This kind of photography isn't my strength, but a few of them aren't too bad.
You'll notice that this video isn't especially bipartisan. That actually has to do with where I was sitting in the gallery. I was allowed to sit in a press seat, which happened to be situated on the side where the Dems are generally seated. I had a tough time getting any decent shots of Republicans cuz they were too far away and my view of them was blocked.
Enjoy.

Carla, those a great pictures!
But technically, you were in the side aisle. Press and invited guests, along with staff, are allowed in the side aisle. When a legislator introduces an honored guest, they will sometimes say "Please recognize ____who is sitting in the side aisle..." and the camera recording the session will focus on that person.
The gallery is on the 3rd floor, and shown in your first picture.

Carla,
You should try to get indecent photos of Republicans. :-)

Good shots, Carla. And those are difficult lighting conditions to take photos in, so special kudos to you.
