Congratulations Rep. Mitch Greenlick!!
Carla Axtman
If ever I were to serve in the Oregon Legislature (which I have no desire to do, incidentally), I'd want the fringe righty crowd to label me....
...one of the biggest socialists in the legislature.
This is how you know you're doing it right, Mitch. Congrats!

Did Representative Greenlick explain why he voted for it before he voted against it?

Carl, why would Mitch do that? he's a prick, after all (and from what i've heard about him, i think he might wear the label with some pride).
i appreciate being shown the website for the blurb at the top of the page: "Portland, Oregon is occupied territory. It was invaded years ago by a non-native species of political animal from back east who took over our political and cultural institutions in order to try out their utopian socialist dreams on our great state." cute. i was born in the socialist empire of Springfield, but i guess since i grew up in Montana, that's "back east". of course, i didn't return to Oregon until i'd served 4 years in the Air Force, so i obviously am also unpatriotic.
nice to see there's no end to holier-than-thou from the wingnuts.

Ergh. You linked to that whiny Kremer fellow.
This is like a rickroll without the funny part.
Damning with faint praise department: at least they're smart enough not to accuse Democrats of being Communists anymore. I guess the memo that the Soviet Union was dissolved got round to all the Republican politburo finally.
@ t.a. barnhart: Yeah, isn't that blurb dear? Liberals aren't from here, they infiltrated into Oregon in the dead of night over the course of three decades. Absolutely none of us was born here, voted Democrat when given the choice (it was required of us) or remember Republicans that don't make us gag, such as McCall or Atiyeh.
Yep, we were planted here! Kremer's on to us! He's way too bright for, perhaps, even himself!

Considering the way he willingly smeared another Democrat to get one of his own ahead in Senate 2008, I have no problem with the description of Greenlick, above.

Corpse abuse is beneath you, TJ...

Greenlick is soooooo right on this one. How dare those corporate fascists think that they can take our precious state from us.
Oregon must go green now! And distance itself as fast as possible from the old corporate abuse.

The devil made us do it.

Kremer's blog on this topic is very entertaining. He seems to be reduced to name calling in order to support his factually challenged position.
In fact he is using the exact same description of Mitch G. that Carla uses to describe the behavior of Bob Tiernan (Oregon GOP chair).
So Carla, Blue Oregon improved immensely the day you started. Your topics are interesting and informed. Please don't dilute the message by descending into Rob Kremer style name calling. Readers are clearly able to determine prickish behavior for themselves!
Otherwise keep up the great work.

non-native species of political animal from back east
You mean like the two founders that argued about naming it after Portland, Maine, or Boston, Mass.?
You're not a "real Oregonian" until you've killed a lot of trees. Dick Wendt is a real Oregonian.
