Ready to party?

Here's a list (surely incomplete) of Inauguration parties around Oregon. If I've left one out, post in the comments.

Plus, there's a long list of other informal inauguration gatherings at local bars at BarflyMag.com.

    How about ready to work?

Is it possible to work for the Obama administration from Oregon? Other than being an elected Democratic official or working at the legislature in some other capacity, is there anything else?

Sorry. After agreeing that using white phosphorus incendiaries on civilians was self-defense and the result is 1/3 of the casualties in an armed conflict being kids, I'm not much in the partying mood.

"Change you have to believe in." I'd sooner die than put my faith in a politician and am truly afraid this one will make me wish I had. Died.

No. Even trying to be self-absorbed and solipsistic about it I can't get the mood. That would at least take getting Barney Franks' legislation back on the table forcing the Fed stormtroopers to lay off States with MM and dignified death laws. Get that passed and we'll have a party and talk about change. Get it introduced again and I'll be shocked.

    Mike,

Because liberals do not eat their own. Sam's up here. And the stalwart progressives have stuck a fork in him and called him done. He would go well with chile on a day like today. Good, hoppy, pol!

this is a day for celebration. Sam and the other problems in the world will keep til tomorrow. and for me, i need more time to learn & process, so i'm glad for the excuse not to have to confront anything but my initial anger & disappointment for now. which leads me right back to celebrating the return of our nation to lawful (and lawfully elected) leadership.
