Caption contest: Oregon College Savings Fund
As The Oregonian reported last week, the Oregon College Savings Fund managed by Randall Edwards lost 38 percent of its value this year, compared to an average return of about four-percent or so from comparable funds in other states. Oregon's fund -- billed as a highly conservative investment -- included leveraged mortgage-backed securities from the riskier Oppenheimer Core Bond Fund.
