SD-25: Monnes-Anderson vs. Kim
Kari Chisholm
Is Senator Laurie Monnes-Anderson (D-Gresham) in trouble in her re-election campaign against Dave Kim? PolitickerOR seems to think so:
As the 2008 campaign season approaches, Monnes Anderson’s seat was not initially considered vulnerable, and the Gresham Democrat rested comfortably in her new leadership role as Deputy Majority Leader. Up until a month ago Kim’s campaign was largely viewed by many insiders as a long shot, however, in recent weeks his fundraising has surged and rumors of poll numbers within the margin of error have circulated throughout the Oregon political community.
Republican Dave Kim has been airing an attack ad for several weeks:
Now, Laurie has her own ad on the air:

Laurie is a tremendous advocate for health care access and education and needs our support in East County. David Kim is an upstart, but extremely well-funded and tied in w/ current HD 50 incumbent, Republican John Lim.
Please join us for a canvass tomorrow in Gresham to help out Laurie and Jeff Merkley. Meet at Red Sunset Park, right off 242nd on Red Sunset Dr. (between Division and Stark and just west of 242nd)
Start time 10 am (Come on, there's just a month left, you can handle 10am on a Saturday!!!!)
Ensuring a blue victory in November takes ALL of us giving just a little time.
