End of the Quarter; Donate Today
Kari Chisholm
Today's the final day of the third quarter - which means it's time for another federal fundraising deadline.
If you're considering a donation to Jeff Merkley or Kurt Schrader, today's a great day to make it.
Why?
Because this is the final quarterly reporting deadline of this election - and the numbers that are reported by those two campaigns will drive the decision-making from national funders, important surrogates, and the media. A strong showing will tend to generate national support, national media coverage, and more.
And of course, it's five weeks out. The campaigns are making final decisions about where to deploy resources, how many organizers they can hire, which ads to run and where.
If you want your donation to have the maximum impact and generate the maximum visibility, today's the day.
Donate to Jeff Merkley and Kurt Schrader right here on the BlueOregon page. (And while you're at it, consider donations to our statewide candidates, too.)

Full disclosure: My firm built websites for Jeff Merkley and Kurt Schrader, but I speak only for myself.

I don't know if it's just a sign of the times we're living in or a reflection of my leftward growth as a citizen, but I've given more (time, money, etc) to Jeff Merkley than the combined total of everything I've given to every other candidate I've supported in my lifetime. And it was my pleasure to plunk down another token amount about 10 minutes ago.
Understand that I'm far from wealthy. Plenty of folks, including many regulars here at Blue O can afford to plunk down the $2300 max in one fell swoop. But not me. Not even close.
I give what I can to those I believe in.
