- So, it turns that Republicans drink harder, but Democrats tip better. I guess Denver is about to find out.
- Over at the OLCV Blog, Jonathan Poisner is blowing the whistle on right-wing outfit FreedomWorks.
Oil-industry backed FreedomWorks, headed by former Texas Congressman Dick Armey, announced earlier this week they they're spending $1 million in Oregon in 2008 to combat “anti-energy extremists.” Of course, they define groups like OLCV as “anti-energy.” They say the campaign will expose "how anti-energy radicals are opposed not just to energy development but to our modern way of life."
This is, of course, rubbish. What threatens our way of life is the head-in-the-sand corporate shills at FreedomWorks who deny global warming is happening, fight against renewable energy, and thus threaten our children with potentially catastrophic global warming.
- A little Obama cinema for you to enjoy while awaiting the big announcement...

Nothing to wait for, K...
Obama's official website announces Joe Biden as his running mate (so much for the text/e-mail subscribers being the first to know).
Regardless, here it is! Check it out!

Supposedly the text messages and emails have gone out, but I didn't get anything.

I heard on TV (after getting a "breaking news" email from a newspaper whose alerts I had signed up for) that the text messages go out in the morning.

The Obama site says they've gone out, as does CNN.

I didn't get anything either, Jenni. LT, I also heard/read that they'll be going out tomorrow morning. How anti-climactic it will be to wake up to the text in the A.M. But those of us who stayed up a little late really are the first to know, because by the time the word was official, people on the east coast were most likely fast asleep.
Heh, we finally get to hear something first. About time.

From CNN:
"Barack has chosen Senator Joe Biden to be our VP nominee," the text message, sent at around 3 a.m. ET, said.
"Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois -- the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago," Obama said in an e-mail sent to supporters Saturday morning.
"I'm excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can't do this alone," he wrote. " We need your help to

Did anyone actually get a text? My coworker did... she got it at 1:09AM. But I didn't get anything. I got notice on my MySpace (that's where I first saw it was official), but no text. Or e-mail.
I wonder what happened.
And to take this back on topic - I think that Democrats drink harder AND tip better. But that's just me. Actually, maybe Republicans are just more stressed out. Perhaps that's why they drink harder. Just a thought.
