Is Mike Erickson just another conservative from Alabama?

Kari Chisholm FacebookTwitterWebsite

Hmmm.... this is odd. PolitickerOR notes the astonishing similarity between an ad for GOP congressional candidate Mike Erickson and Alabama GOP congressional candidate Jay Love.

Watch the two spots:

So, now he's copying and pasting ads from other campaigns... fits in perfectly with his fake endorsements and the fake job on his resume.

If it weren't for the millions of dollars he's injecting into his campaign, he'd be just another frat boy at Dorchester. But those millions make him competitive. Go help Kurt Schrader. Oregon can't afford to let the 5th District fall into Republican hands.

[Full disclosure: My firm built Kurt Schrader's website, but I speak only for myself.]

Sleaze, thy name is Mike Erickson. He has become a poster child for the Republican party of 2008. My neighbor across the street took down his Mike Erickson lawn sign some time ago. I hope he goes broke funding his broken vanity campaign.

Mike Erickson will say and do anything to get elected. He is exactly the kind of politician that has run this country into the precarious position we now find ourselves in socially, fiscally, and militarily. He is one in a line of shameless self-promoters and pandering sycophants.

Kurt Schrader is a class act and will be an excellent addition to Oregon's congressional delegation.

Does it scare anyone that there are quite a few republicans that like Kurt as well? I have heard that from many.

    @ Josh

It doesn't scare me that Rs like Kurt Schrader. This is an R Cong. district. This is how Dems get elected, by getting some Rs on board. A lot of Rs like Obama. That's good. That's how elections get won.

Just to set the record straight, I read it right, it appears from the Politicker story that both ads were created by the same consulting company, and just adjusted for the local race. So Erickson might have gone cheap and hired an ad cloner who figgered no-one would check. For a real good laugh, click both ads as quickly as possible to play them near-simultaneously. It's very goofy, especially after about 15 seconds.

Oh, and by the way, what Government handouts are they both talking about? I can never get a straight or true answer from any righties about this.

Yes Kurt continue to do nothing (He actually spoke out against a secure Drivers' License/Photo ID) about Illegal immigration please.

Mike has the money to do polling and found out, guess what? Illegal Immigration is a top issue negativley impacting Government spending, Health care, Crime, Drugs, Education, Economy, etc. And the Failure of Congress to pass Amnesty, several times, should be Proof that the People want to stop Illegal immigration and not reward them. But the Career Politicians pretend it doesn't exist or matter.

That is why he runs ads on this and pulls great numbers, especially for a Non Politician.

Vote for Mike Erickson, lets really Change Wash. DC, DC obviously is doing nothing we want as their historically low approval numbers prove.

What would be wrong with Republicans liking Schrader??! Did all Republicans turn into fire breathing baby-eating demons while I wasn't looking? An officeholder who can act on the concerns of a broad base of constituents is exactly what I'd look for in a representative.

Erickson is the abortion guy, right? Who dropped off his pregnant mistress at Planned Parenthood with a couple hundred bucks and then sped off and subsequently denied it ever happened?

I hope he loses to Schrader (who I plan to vote for). I saw Schrader speak in Clackamas a few months ago and he seemed on the ball. He certainly had more energy than Erickson displays in this copycat ad.

i have driven by erickson's election office, located in beautiful downtown Lake Oswego, numerous times and have never seen anyone working or even hanging around. now i know the gop approaches elections differently then the democrats ... but to do so sans any people ... is rather strange!

oh, i was one of the lucky people who was pushed polled by erickson's hired guns ... it was two afters the primary if my memory serves me correctly. as i recall there was a series of questions about illegal aliens and none about abortion ... go figure, hey.

This is something from the Republican handbook for this election cycle. They can't run on anything of substance so they try to inject fear into the public to gain votes. Republicans are the party of anger and fear. Mike is just toeing the line.
