Once again in the WWeek interview, answers to the question about who they'd vote for seem more self-protective.
As a general matter, I was struck by how much Jim Middaugh seems to bill himself as StenII, but does so without Erik's charm, almost to the point of being nasty. This debate convinces me that City Council would have done much better in the last few years if Nick Fish won last time he ran, and he brings a wealth of ideas and background that lead me to support him.

Nick looks neverous and his message is not focused. He made the crucial mistake over the past couple of weeks of finding ways to attack Jim instead of projecting a message to Portlanders.
Look at each candidates website and look under issues. Nick has nothing, Jim has a broad base of information about a myraid of subjects.

Clearly Middaugh has "Nobody's" sage and articulate endorsement, focusing on the "myraid" of subjects. And while I disagree about the substance of their respective websites, I certainly agree that the best candidate, the one who has the best vision, has the most experience, has the better political acumen, is ALWAYS the one with the better website. Like that Emilie Boyles, she paid really good money for her bang-up website and, uh, never mind.

Blue Oregon readers can decide.

I watched this to help decide between Nick and Jim. After watching I think I'll be voting for Fred Stewart. Very impressive.
Thanks for posting the video.

CHEERLEADING TEAM SPONSOR LETTER Cleveland High School 3400 SE 26th Ave. Portland, OR 97202 (503) 916-5120 Federal Tax ID 93-6000830
Warrior Cheerleading 2008-2009
The student presenting you with this letter is a member on the 2008-2009 Cleveland High School Cheerleading Team. Cheerleaders are very visible representatives for Cleveland High School. They perform at potentially all sports activities through out the school year. Cheerleading is considered a Varsity and Junior Varsity sport. The team practices through the summer, fall, and winter seasons. In addition to cheering at the school sports activities the team also competes at several competitions around the state.
As you may know, funding for sports through Portland Public School District is very limited. The team members are responsible for raising money for their uniforms, camp wear and camp. This uniform strongly identifies the cheerleaders as team members and is a reflection of Cleveland High School. Cheer camp is an invaluable time for team building and unification, as well as time to learn many important cheer skills.
This year the cheerleaders have the option of enlisting sponsors in addition to other fundraising efforts. If a cheerleader has 20 sponsors with a $50.00 sponsorship she will cover the majority of her/his costs for the year.
For you sponsorship of $50.00 you will receive a team photo. Contributions are tax deductible.
Thank you for your time and consideration for supporting Cleveland High School’s Cheerleading Program.
Sincerely, Amber Gatti- [email protected] Varsity Cheer Coach Please detach and return with sponsor check for our records
