What you don't know about Hillary Clinton.

This is hilarious. Or, should I say... Hill-arious.

I think we have a different definition of hilarious, Kari.

Nothing like trying to manufacture the youth vote when she has all the chance of a snowball in you-know-where of getting it. Pandering at it's worst.
Look out for Obama's big endorsement today that you won't hear about on the national news- Sotelo on El Piolin radio had Teddy K on today and is fully endorsing Obama on national Hispanic radio. In case you're not familiar with Sotelo on El Piolin Radio, according to the WA post, Arbitron ratings have Sotelo beating Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh and Tom Joyner every weekday morning.
And before any trolls ask, yes- Sotelo is an American citizen.
There is no more solid gold endorsement Obama could get to help in CA next Tuesday. Combined with the youth vote he'll get, it's gonna be beautiful.

Was that Hillary "rocking" in the background?
Hilary Duff rocks harder than Hillary Clinton.

Hilary Duff rocks harder than Hillary Clinton.
I laughed so hard when I read that I almost lost a bite of my Higher Taste sandwich to the floor. And I'd buy a ticket to see Hilary Duff and Hillary Clinton lipsync bad pop music together. They could do the "Sisters" bit from White Christmas...

They could do the "Sisters" bit from White Christmas...
I think Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith already did that.

Great! What a fun diversion.
Free association: my daughter wants to go to rock-n-roll camp for girls this summer. I love seeing things that empower girls and young women and that rock. And this little video reminds me how much a President Hillary will empower her and girls all over America and the world. I hope Hillary's there not just for pride but also to get more women into college, into math and science, into politics, and into being unashamed of gaining the power to do good in the world.
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

Kinda funny--but I had a continuity moment: if she quit to run for President, that meant she was in the band as a sitting Senator. And somehow THAT was manageable on her time?
I also thought the use of the phrase "Hillary Doesn't Shred" was a little too evocative of TravelGate (although I know it's a hip kids' lingo term). I Am Not A Crook, I Did Not Have Sex With That Woman, We Do Not Torture...I Do Not Shred. :)
Maybe the Red Eye guy will have her on Fox!

Hillary will empower your daughter? Exactly why?
oh i get it, sexual equipment RULES dood.
Really, we ought to have a black lesbian parthenogenic Martian run and we'd have covered all the bases that don't mean spit regarding the Presidency ( I know there's more, but it's already a run-on).
((hmmm, race, orientation, gender, sex, alien - not bad)

That's one of the stupidest ads ever.
Jan 31, '08
An amusing ad, once. But more than once, I don't think so.
I don't see it as being worth making, though.
Exactly how will this empower/ inspire fans of this song to go out and work for the Senator from NY rather than the Sen. from Illinois?

Mr. Contractor Guy, breaking out the 75-cent words!! "Parthenogenic"--does that mean you look good when standing in front of the Parthenon? Whatever Chuck, it's all Greek to me.
Jan 31, '08
parthenogenesis
noun 1. human conception without fertilization by a man 2. process in which an unfertilized egg develops into a new individual; common among insects and some other arthropods
So Chuck is either looking for the offspring of a modern-day Virgin Mary, or a bug.

Torrid - everything's Greek to you. Have you managed to break that nasty habit of trolling blogs on PFD time?

Hey Bix -- good to see you back.
I don't think it's an "ad", in the sense that they're airing it on television. I think it's a silly YouTube video.

i still think the 1984 ad is the best so far, simply for the seamless weaving of the original and the new material (the woman wearing an iPod was a touch of genius). and nothing has had the pop appeal that Obama girl did.
this was almost cute. but the overt "hey kids i'm with" aspect -- she just tries too hard.

Kari,
You can't really think that's hilarious. It's not. At all.

I hope Hillary's there not just for pride but also to get more women into college, into math and science, into politics, and into being unashamed of gaining the power to do good in the world.
Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, Eva Peron, Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Margaret Thatcher and other powerful women had very limited impact on empowering women so it is unlikely Hillary will do much better. If I recall correctly, Maggie Thatcher's cabinet consisted mostly of older white males.
If girls and women want to be empowered they will have to do what black Americans and workers in labor unions did for their elevation out of the economic and social pits. Work and fight for it.
I hope Hillary's there not just for pride...
The odds are very much in favor of this being another triumph of hope over reason.
As for the video, this must be a generational thing or my head cold is worse than I thought. It didn't make sense to me.
