Great Speech!
As Atlanta's mayor said today, this is no fairy tale. We can all be proud of Senator Obama, no matter who we are voting for.

Powerful and important speech. While it is almost a given that Obama is a great orator, this speech is (to my mind) more meaningful than just great oratory.

And here is Martin Luther King's last speech given the night before he was killed, April 3, 1968.

Some of you might find Becky Miller's post today on why she supports Obama interesting.
Many here will remember her as the former Bill Sizemore aid-turned-state's-witness-against-him. Her journey from the Dark Side (aka rightwing) is relatively new and I know that I personally understand where she's at because it's where I was about 10 years ago.
She wrote a guest column here at Blue Oregon several years ago. Maybe Kari or someone can find it because it give the backstory to why she's where she's at, ideologically, today.

The Obama speech was fine, but is speechifying enough when faced with Clintonian methods like this?

Time will tell whether the Dem. party wants to sell its soul to the Clintons or not. The Dem. debate tonight in SC and the tactics of Bill and Hillary have pretty much eliminated any possibility of an alliance with Obama and their supporters and a united party in the fall. Hillary was skilled enough in her attack tactics, but also showed why voters dislike and distrust her so much. Most observers/pundits of the debate thought Obama did best, but time will tell. I think it's likely Obama will regain some momentum after winning SC and then it's on to Super Tues. I belong to an e-list of several hundred Obama supporters and the better part of them say they won't consider Hillary under any circumstances, especially after what's happened this month.
