White Christmas
Jeff Alworth
In the accompanying picture, captured on my impressionistic 1 megapixel phone camera, you can barely see a snowlflake at the tip of the arrow (and only if you click on the photo and enlarge it, and even then, only if you use more than a little imagination). It fails to do justice to what is currently a quite picturesque gentle snow falling over Southeast Portland.
Wherever you are, and whatever you see out your window, I hope you are warm inside, enjoying the company of family and friends--and thinking not for a minute about polls or NIEs or Gordon Smith.
Peace to you all--

The last time I had Christmas snow, I was living in Texas and was around 12 years old. So apparently we had Christmas snow on the Gulf Coast the last time Portland had Christmas snow. It's funny because my parents had it again about 3 years ago or so and always teased us because we've never had any while living here. Of course they got a phone call today. ;)

Greetings from Baltimore, Maryland. It's cold here now (about freezing) but it was clear and beautiful these past couple of days. It rained on Sunday but there is no snow in evidence. My parents are glad about this. I'm glad to have been able to spend another Christmas with them (ages 85 and 77) in reasonably good health.
Merry happy to all.

We had about 3 hours of good Cristmas snow here in Beaverton before it turned to rain and was washed away. The fireplace was roaring and a Stargate SG1 marathon on TV. Perfect!
