Send $50 to a good cause today - last day of 2007!
Albert Kaufman
I was just opening some mail from one of my favorite environmental groups, Save our Wild Salmon,
and realized that for anyone who hasn't donated $50 to a political cause or candidate, today is your last chance. SOS has a Portland office, of course. Here's some background info on this:
Oregon offers an income tax credit to residents who contribute to qualifying state, federal or local political campaigns. The total credit is limited to $100 on a joint return or $50 on a single or separate return. Please see OregonTaxCredit.com for details. Contributions or gifts to this campaign are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. Donations can not be accepted by foreign nationals or foreign companies.
So, I want to encourage everyone who has their ears on today and who hasn't picked a cause yet for 2007 to reach into your wallet and pick someone or something to support.
and - here's to 2008! Happy New Year everyone!
PS - a friend sent me this link to a beautiful dance duet by Pilobolus that I think is stunning. Since we've got sports and beer, I'd like to add... dance :)
