The waves of product safety scares coming out of China aren't freak occurrences. They are the predictable result of shifting manufacturing to countries that don't meet the same health, environmental and consumer protection standards that we deem critical here in the United States.

It's heartening that trade policy is receiving more and more attention from the general public, elected officials and Blue Oregon.
