Miss Teen South Carolina.... George W. Bush!
Kari Chisholm
It'd be pretty hard to wander 'round Blogistan these days - or watch late-night television - without catching the oh-so-painful clip of Miss Teen South Carolina attempting to answer a question about geographic literacy.
But, compare and contrast that to our president's performance from 2004.
(Idea blatantly stolen from Bill Maher, hat tip to Senate Guru.)

Kari, At least our President knows what shoes to wear in Iraq.
Check out this picture from today's NY Times.
Rice is wearing what looks like 3 inch stiletto heels. Very functional for rocks and sand (she's looking down apparently trying not to trip).
Gates has on a pair of wing tips. Yeah. Right. $5 for a polish sir?
And our fearless leader looks like he has on ... what ... some sort of hiking shoe?
Got to give Bush his props--at least the man knows how to dress for the desert. I guess those years in Midland taught him something.

Make it stop, for the love of God make it stop! There's no comparison to be made: She is a nervous young girl hoping to win a scholarship, who did not hear the question clearly. He is the most powerful man on Earth, with a briefcase that launches nukyular weapons.
Kudos to host Mario Lopez for not making a bad moment worse. A class act.
