Instead of going out tonight...

Andrew Simon

The Oregon Food Bank turned to the public today, asking for assistance to fill its bare cupboards.

It's a Saturday. Instead of going out tonight, donate online to the Oregon Food Bank.

I just gave 10 dollars. Will you join me?

Donate here.

Donation done. I have to admit that I hadn't planned on doing anymore donations right now (school job hasn't kicked in yet) but I happened on a short message about giving abundance in order to receive abundance, and was reminded that I may live on a student budget but at least I have a budget to actually live on. Thank you for posting this.

I saw the story in the daily this AM and filed it in the back of my mind. You're right: I just donated the equivalent of dinner for two at the Industrial Cafe & Saloon, which is what we were planning on.

We'll stay in tonight and feel pretty good about it. Thanks.

TheCans Film Festivalthis Thursday is also an excellent way to make a donation. Catch a movie and do some good at the same time. Kudos to Regal Cinemas.

The Washington County Democrats have a donation barrel inside the office in Beaverton (on Broadway accross the street from Beaverton Bakery. Drop off your non-perishable food donations during office hours. Please do not leave food outside the office doors. Visit Washco Dems for more info. Thanks!

Andrew, what say we do both? ('cause you wouldn't want all this pirate gear to go to waste!)

    h/t for the tip.

Thanks, Andrew! I just slipped them a few bucks myself.

Kari, Unless I have missed it, how about donating a small square permanent link to OFB in a sidebar? Good karma!

    Thanks for the heads up.

Don't know if it was covered here, but earlier this month the Democratic Party of Oregon ran a food drive and collected 5,400 pounds and about $600, so props to them.

It was surprising to hear they're in such bad shape though, maybe the increase hype around national politics has taken away some of their donations.

Man, what they could do with just a fraction of the money pissed away on the Tram!

Ah, but Portland's "image" is more important.
