Gordon Smith chooses corporate tax loopholes over veterans benefits
Over at StopGordonSmith.com, they've got the latest on Gordon Smith's voting record.
His votes against veterans caught up to him yesterday as Veterans In Action criticized him for his atrocious voting record and asked him to change course.Smith has earned a 40 percent score from Disabled American Veterans. That rating placed him in the bottom 25 percent of the U.S. Senate - lower than more than 25 U.S. Senate Republicans and every Democrat and Independent serving at that time in the chamber.
You can check out that 40% rating here. Among the votes that he cast against veterans was this one:
5. Akaka Amdt. No. 3007; To increase Veterans medical services funding by $1.5 billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes (03/14/2006, Roll Call No. 41)
For the record, Ron Wyden's score was 80%.
