A good argument on Gordon Smith
Jack Bogdanski wants us "kids" at BlueOregon (41% between 31-55, 35% over 56) to ponder a simple, basic argument against Gordon Smith that doesn't involve his ethical problems, his flip-flops, his doubletalk, his give-aways to offshore special interests, his votes against Oregon's interests, the way he's been hiding from Oregonians, or even his say-one-thing-do-another approach to the war.
It is, says Jack, much simpler than that:
Here's a better pitch: You cannot vote for Gordon Smith because he is a member of the Republican Party. Over the last six and a half years, the Republican Party has set this country back at least 50 years. They have made a mess of everything, domestically and internationally. Guys like Gordon Smith had their chance to run the country, and they botched it badly. So now it's time for someone else to get a chance.
Sounds about right.
Read the rest. Discuss over there.
