Tootie Smith supports more "discrimination, harassment, and violence in schools."
Of course, she probably wouldn't put it that way.
But the former State Representative - and current lobbyist for the Oregon Family Council - is leading the charge against a student organization at Molalla High School.
The organization she opposes has a mission to:
"create safe environments in schools for students to support each other and learn about homophobia and other oppressions; educate the school community about homophobia, gender identity, and sexual orientation issues; and fight discrimination, harassment, and violence in schools."
Why would Tootie oppose a group that fights harassment and educates students about homophobia?
Head on over to Loaded Orygun to find out - and learn what she's up to.
Discuss over there.
