Groundhog Day! Will Gordon Smith see his shadow?
Kari Chisholm
OK, I think I've figured this out. Today is Groundhog Day.
If Gordon Smith pops out of his hole in the ground and sees his shadow, we'll have six more months without an officially announced opponent. If Gordon Smith doesn't see his shadow - our long dark winter is almost over, and we'll get an opponent in just a few short weeks. Or maybe it's the other way around.
Personally, I don't have any idea. I just couldn't resist Photoshopping America's best-dressed senator into a little mud hole.

makes me want to get out a shovel... this guy has got to go. after today's global warming report from Paris, seems like it might be a good time for those who've been denying global warming and fighting against doing anything about it in the US, to just resign. I'd like to see the greenest member of our delegation step up to the plate and give Smith a run for his money. let's send him back to growing peas (perhaps organic if he's learned anything...)

Oh, I thought it was 6 months till we know where he stands on Iraq. Or on the minimum wage.

Then again, maybe no amount of shadow chasing will ever reveal the answers to these (apparently very, very complex) questions.
