Where's W?
It's been a month. A month since Saxton Watch asked the question:
When Will Bush Come to Oregon To Boost Ron?
After all, as Saxton Watch pointed out: Ron Saxton really loves George Bush.
• Max Contributor to Bush in 2000 & 2004. Saxton gave $1,000 to Bush in 2000 and $2,000 in 2004. His wife also gave Bush $2,000 in 2004. [FEC]• Does Not Believe It is Ever Appropriate for a Governor to Defy the President. Saxton told OPB that unless the President was doing something illegal or immoral, he would never defy him. [OPB, 5/5/06]
• Supports Bush's War in Iraq. During the KGW Debate in the primary, Saxton defended Bush's record in Iraq, saying, "I would not be criticizing the president on this war." [KGW 4/24/06]
So, the wait continues. When will George Bush visit Oregon to help his good buddy, Ron?
In the comments, post your best guess. Closest person to the actual date wins a BlueOregon t-shirt.
(Of course, "never" is probably the most likely answer - but no t-shirt for that one.)

I think he'll show up the third week of October!

I say day before ballots arrive.

The third week in October is a little vague. Let's change this to naming a specific day. Well by my count there are 49 days (not counting today and election day).
I'm picking October 14th.
Kari, my shirt size is XXL.

If Bush is a no-show then i think Saxton should get the Blue O t-shirt.

I think the question should really be: if Dubya does come to shake the money tree, where will Ron be? My guess: wherever Bush ain't. (If Bush comes to Puddletown, I like Roseburg.)

No way does Saxton want Bush's numbers. If Bush comes to Oregon to help Saxton, they won't be next to each other... just a quick and painless exchange of funds and that's it. Bush is a brick and Saxton's barely treading water.
So I vote for GW not coming at all, but in the name of a free T-shirt, I'll say October 17.

I agree with varner, if W doesn't come to his aid, then send Saxton a shirt. It would probably piss him off pretty good. LOL
I also have to wonder if this will happen at all. If W does make an appearance on behalf of Saxton, will it help or hurt him?

BTW, for what it's worth, a couple of Republican presidential candidates ARE coming into town for Saxton. On 9/23, Gov Mitt Romney (MA) is apparently worth $1500/person, while Gov Mike Huckabee (AR) on 9/27 is only worth $100/person. Then again, it's a BBQ fundraiser - and I'm not sure I'd want to eat BBQ with the guy who has made "low fat eating" his calling card.

Well, I don't think he'll come, but if he does, it would have to be a day where it would take news away from other events. The ONLY key event from a Republican standpoint that would need the news blotted out by a Presidential visit is the Walden/Voisin debate that will be on October 18th. (Republicans will want to bury that one deep, she's going to eat his lunch.)
So, Oct. 18th, and I wear an XL.

October 15th, 2010. No way Saxton would want him here this time round. Perhaps by 2010, Bush's stink might have lessened, but I doubt it. He'll probably still be in jail then.

Knowing how inept my Cousin is, I suspect Dubya to show up two days after the election, with check in hand!!

President. Bush. Will. Never. Ever. Visit. Oregon. Again.
Unless he checks himself into The Grotto, to beg forgiveness from his God, and to help wash the blood of thousands and thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children off his tiny, shaky, but softer than a baby's bottom hands.
