Thom Hartmann Show hits the airwaves nationwide

ThomhartmannLocal progressive radio host Thom Hartmann is one heckuva workhorse. Right after he finishes up his three-hour local show for KPOJ, he's been doing a second three-hour show for the Sirius Radio Network.

Now, we get word that the national show is getting even more coverage. The Air America Radio network has launched a new syndication division - providing additional shows to their local affiliates. The Thom Hartmann Show will be the first new offering, available to local over-the-air stations all across the country.

From the announcement:

“We are thrilled to have Thom be a part of Air America’s unmatched line-up of talent and are looking forward to helping him grow in affiliations, audience, revenue, and most importantly, as an important progressive voice in the media landscape.”

“For years the Progressive Movement has relied on Thom Hartman’s frequent and thoughtful writing and on his radio program. We are very pleased to be able to bring his show to the rest of the country,”

I really enjoy listening to Harmann whenever I get the chance, but I have my doubts about his ability to pull of 6 hours of radio per day, unless he's duplicating a lot of it.

More power to him, but it'll be unfortunate to lose him locally if he gets big and his priorities change. Oh well, it'll be best in the big picture if he does outgrow PDX.

He's been doing six hours every day (3 local, and 3 national) since he got to Portland. My understanding is that the Air America move just put him into more markets.

See you all at the Roosevelt Dinner!!!

Thank you, Thom, for passing along so much reliable information ! It's so nice to have you as a Portlander !

I'm a retired teacher who would love to see the money in the "No Child Left Behind" budget be transferred towards the education of any natural disaster evacuees. Education districts are terribly stressed financially across America and yet they are taking in the evacuees very willingly. Is there financial support for tutoring?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Carol
