The Salem Tax Game
Chuck Sheketoff
Keep your eyes on S.B 31 - that's where the tax game is getting played out in Salem in these final hours of the legislative session.
The Loophole Lobby is pushing for moving up (earlier implementation) the move to single sales factor and expanding the definition of what sales constitute out of state sales. See http://www.ocpp.org/2005/rpt050527dodge.pdf for a description of single sales factor. See if the R&D credit gets expanded, or if Oregon makes the mistake of letting Bill Frist and Tom DeLay control our tax system.
