PUC To Announce PGE Sale Decision Thursday Morning
The One True bIX
Earlier today, the Oregon Public Utilities Commission announced that they will be holding a news conference at 11:00 AM tomorrow morning to present its decision regarding the sale of Portland General Electric to Oregon Electric Utility Company.
Somewhat later, the office of Mayor Tom Potter here in Portland announced that the City will hold a news conference of its own at 2:00 PM tomorrow afternoon to discuss that decision.
So here's your chance for final predictions. Bonus prediction time: Which local or state media outlet, if any, will get ahold of the decision and break the news overnight?

I'm glad you posted this topic, b!X--I was thinking of it myself.
Ah, predictions, my special forte. Like Scott Simon and Ron Rappaport, my predictions are almost flawlessly inaccurate. I alone hold the power to decide futures, to control the destinies of men and utilities. (We won't invade Iraq, Howard Dean will win Iowa, Pittsburgh will win the Super Bowl.) And thus it is that I predict (these have to be actual predictions, you understand, no pre-emptive queering of deals):
The PUC will REJECT Texas Pacific's bid. (Oh no!) Yes, and I'm as alarmed as you by my prediction. But there it is. What can you do? I mean, I just don't know how the PUC could accept that bid after all that we now know.
Let's hope my anti-radar is on the fritz.
