The Devil, You Say?
Jason Evans
Sensing my displeasure and sadness with the way things went yesterday, a friend at work said something that surprisingly helped me: the Devil that we know is easier to deal with than the Devil we don't know.
While thinking on just how true that is, good ol' Worldwide Pablo provided another dose of colleague-closure that helped me: "I am encouraging people to indulge their powers of rationalization as they never have before. It will be healthier for you."
It seems that the Democratic party was too focused on who could beat a war-time President and less focused on who represented the "values" of their party.
(sigh)
Time for my daily sandwich.

Hey Jason, Now the real fight begins. The Moral Majority threw down the gauntlet in 11 states. That does NOT mean the fight is over, not by a long shot. It is time for us to find ways to GET those laws overturned. It is Time for Gay America ( with the Support of the International Gay Community ) like US up here in Canada, to help you Make New Laws and Affect real Change.
The religious right voted on a moral imperative, and they voted their Fear. That was righteous indignation. Now, we must actively lobby the world stage to help us.
But, if we stay in anger mode, always being resentful of the Bush victory, we will loose sight of "OUR" mandate... We will not go Quietly into the night. We must focus on the Prize. The eventual rights for ALL under the law.
The Gay community must not let this deter us from moving forward. We must not fail. If we fail, then many young gay boys and girls will never see the light of equality. It is up to Us to show them the way we can do this.
Write, Speak, Protest, and share you concerns with anyone who is willing to listen. Know that I care, up here in Montreal.
