It could happen...

Found on the Internet....

One sunny day, in the spring of 2005, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Ave, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here." The old man said, "Okay", and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here." The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same US Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine, understandably irritated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand that?"

The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

Yeah, I read that a while back. The one I liked off the internet was a Dear Abby letter. The author is worried about telling his new wife about his family. He lists murderers, sex offenders, and theives in his family but what he's really worried about is telling her about his Uncle, who is voting for Bush.

It's funnier if you substitute Clinton for Bush.

  • (Show?)

Yeah, funny in the "Clinton won by nearly 10% of the popular vote and by 220 EVs for his second term and would have easily been elected to a third term if it were possible where Bush is struggling for every last EV and will likely end up a one-term president like his daddy" sorta way.

Did you mean funny like that? Cuz, well, yeah... I don't get it. ;-)

As George Will once said: "Clinton wasn't the worst president, he was just the worst person ever to become president" Or something to that effect.

And before anyone's head comes to a point... I held my nose and voted for Kerry.

So there! I'm a BlueOregonian too!
