Really tired gimmick.

..and the gimmick flows directly into republologic. Cut the hell out of services; initiate NO revenue additions and clamor that the only reason the sky is falling is because - shock and horror - there is a stinkin' huge national debt.
It's short-sighted on the front end (austerity doesn't yank us outta the damn recession) and on the back end (thank you George Bush for your reckless policies and spending that got us here....)
